RAINBOWS AT the kitten camp

Loving an animal will break your heart, but it will also heal it.

Fostering is hard, and if you are brave enough to take in the bottle babies, special-needs, behavioral, or senior pets, eventually you will experience a profound loss. First, it will stun you–shake your confidence to the core. Then it will smack you hard–back to reality, and back to seeing just how precarious and precious life is. It always hurts to lose them, and yet they help us get stronger, smarter, and better prepared to save the next.

Forever in our hearts
